| **Our forecast area is only regarding White Pine and its outskirts. Due to Mesoscale activity this forecast may vary for the rest of Jefferson and other surrounding counties. Short Term: A few degrees more than expected. Next precipitation system is developing over the Rockies, will quickly move across the plains and over Eastern Tennessee. Expect cloud cover and moisture increase during the week. This deep upper trough creates a large weather system that will keep chances of precipitation at 30%. A predicted strong short wave is showing higher chances of precipitation on Thursday but down sloping winds may offset the intensity to about 60% chance.
Long Term: Friday morning will be a dry slot and cold air aloft. This creates more convection during the weekend. Saturday and Sunday, depending on the timing of the front, and the airmass, there are high potentials more rain, strong winds, and of hail. Higher terrains may experience a mixture to snow flurries. Monday the system will begin to move out and dry out. March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Updated 03/08/2010 |
