BILL PHILLIPS, age 88, of White Pine, TN, born May 15, 1922 in Shelmount, TN, died on July 29, 2010. He was raised in the Point Pleasant Community of Cocke County. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Leadvale Lodge #390 F & AM, whereachieved his 32nd Degree, and he was a member of the Shriners. He retired from Operting Engineers # 917, Chattanooga, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave A. and Martha "Lou" Fowler Phillips; spouses, Bessie Keith Solomon and Rose Brady Salmons Phillips; brothers, Dan, Lee, Will and Joe Phillips; sisters, Emma Fox Luster, Mary "Jimmie" Huff, Julia Wall Murphy, Dot McCoig and son-in-law, Henry Bart Gibson. He is survived by his son, William B. (Donna) Phillips of Palos Heights, IL; daughters, Paula (Scotti) Shelton of Morristown and Patsy Gibson of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine with Leadvale Lodge # 390 F & AM officiating. MICKEY WILLIAM CROCKER, age 67, of White Pine, TN passed away suddenly at his home on July 27, 2010. He was a decorated combat veteran serving three tours in Vietnam and was also a Purple Heart recipient. Mickey was a member-at-large of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Mack Jr. and Thelma Lane; sister, Mary Valez and best friend Bobby Joe Kimbrough. Mickey is survived by his son, Roger (Lora) Shepard of Morristown; daughters, Crystal Crocker of Nashville and Alecia Crocker of Newport; brothers, Johnny (Linda) Lane, Jerry (Lorene) Lane and Jim Lane, all of White Pine, Tommy (Martha) Lane of Morristown; sisters, Kay (David) Parton, Sue (Everett) Tipton, Linda Lane, Becky Harvel, all of White Pine, and Rita (James) Helton of Greensboro; NC; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. J. C. DOUTHAT, age 77, of White Pine, TN passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his home. Preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Ruth Douthat; parents, Estel and Flora Douthat; sisters, Elizabeth Belle Stroud and Jo Edna Fancher; brother, Hal Douthat. He was retired from BASF and was of the Methodist faith. Survived by sisters, Frances McPherson (Charles), Lucille Stroud, Juanita Warwick Mayes (Earl), Colleen Lawson (Tom) and Shirley Jones; brother, Rex Douthat (Ruth); several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Carolyn Reese; sister-in-law, Pat Dunlap. BILLIE W. ROSE, age 86, of Baneberry, TN passed away at Shannondale Healthcare in Knoxville on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. She was a retired school teacher of 37 years. She is the daughter of the late John L. and Geneva Collins Whitehead. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Wallace Rose; sons, Ted (Kathy) Rose of Lebanon, TN, Barry (Barbara) Rose of Niceville, FL and Michael (Teresa) Rose of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Travis Rose, Tony Rose, Mason Rose, Anna Rose and Zachary Rose; great-grandson, Cayden Osborne; sisters, Virginia Young of Knoxville and Sammie Tolley of Hampton, TN. JOE HALL, age 83, of White Pine, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family. Joe was a faithful member and deacon of Leadvale Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Hester hall; sisters, Laura (Clyde) Taylor and Hattie Hall; brothers, I. L. (Juantia) Hall and Lewis (Elon) Hall; sons, Freddie Joe Hall and Phillip Austin Hall. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Hall; son, Ricky "Doc" Hall and wife, Annette; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. EDWARD T. “RICK” CLARK, age 56, of White Pine, TN passed away suddenly on June 22, 2010 from an accident. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his son, Jason Clark. CLARENCE A. TURNER, age 91, of White Pine, TN formerly of Flint, MI passed away Friday, June 11, 2010. He was born February 21, 1918 in Ned, KY, the son of the late John B. and Nancy Ann Watts Turner. Following his service in the U.S. Army and World War II he worked as a coal miner and was thankful for the opportunity to go to work at General Motors where he retired after 30 years. Clarence was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed, hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, raising fruit trees and also bird watching while relaxing in his gazebo. Following his retirement to White Pine, TN he became a member and cherished the fellowship of the Leadvale Baptist Church. He will be fondly remembered for his love of red trucks and how he truly loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Richard Turner of Lebanon, MO; brother, Eugene Turner of Flint, MI; 3 grandchildren, Melissa Robertson, Richard Turner, Jr., and Christy Turner; great grandchild, Alexis Robertson; special niece, Phyllis Terry; special nephews, Steve Combs, Tommy (Tinker Tom) Combs, and Donnie (Donald Duck) Combs and several other nieces and nephews; special friends, Bryan Mowry, Don and Micki Brown, Milburn and Billie Strange, Lucy Combs and Cathy Foutch.

Franklin Rimmer, age 86 of White Pine,TN passed away Friday evening, June 4, 2010 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of White Pine and a World War II veteran. He was the son of the late Frank and Lily Rimmer. Preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Evelyn Lucille Rimmer; son, Dennis Rimmer; brothers, Cecil, Howard and Hugh Rimmer; sisters, Kathleen Hill and Louise Rimmer. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Faye Rimmer and daughter and son-in-law Anne and Charles Herndon; grandchildren, Mike Rimmer, Felisha McNabb (Ken), Tori Vick, Andrew Vick, and Emily Vick; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Rimmer, Lauren McNabb and Sarah McNabb; brother, Eugene "Wimp" Rimmer and sister Ona Pearl Denton; sister-in-law Helen Ottinger (Kyle); several nieces and nephews. EMPCIE B. COLLINS, age 86, of White Pine, TN passed away at Heritage Center in Morristown on May 30, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Collins; parents, Freeman Henry Horton and Sarah Katherine Horton; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, John and Pauline Horton, Martha Stamper, Daisy Burnham and Ray and Flossie Horton; sister-in-law, Georgie King; brother-in-law, Arnold Collins and several nieces and nephews. MARY ELLEN GAMMON SURRETT, age 84, of White Pine, TN passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of White Pine. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years. Henry F. Surrett; parents, Charles and Marguerite Gammon; brothers, Edwin and Robert Gammon; infant grandson, Michael Blake Price. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kaye Surrett of White Pine; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Mike Price of Dandridge; grandchildren, Laura Price Reece and husband, Jack, Farrah Surrett Newman and husband, Will, Matthew Surrett, Kristin Price and Justin Price; great-grandsons, John Willis Newman, Emmitt Newman and Holden Reece; sisters, Marjorie Gammon Smith and Lois Gammon Gill; several nieces and nephews. JEWELL MAY BARTON CULL, age 93, of White Pine, TN passed away on May 16, 2010 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. She was born and raised in Mannford, Oklahoma. An accomplished nature artist, she volunteered at Pearl Harbor as a guard on a ship during World War II, and her paintings from there will be displayed during her funeral. She dedicated her life to her husband, family and service to others. She was an accomplished poet, writer and artisan, with a legacy of love of Christ to pass on. When she was able, she attended Seventh Day Adventist Church of Morristown with her daughter. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul A. Cull; son, Jimmy Cull and daughter, Sandy Lutz; grandchildren, Ben Knight, Angela Lutz, Erik Lutz, Stacy Lutz, Jeremy Cull and Keenen Cull; great-grandchildren, natalie Knight, Anthony Knight, Ozzie Turner and Sparrow Lutz; brother, Jack Barton of Mannford, OK. WILLIAM ROBERT "DOC" SARTAIN, age 83, of White Pine, TN passed away on May 14, 2010 at Morristown hamblen Healthcare System. He attended Nina Baptist Church and was a local farmer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Ruben Sartain and Rosa Mae Sinard Sartain; son, Roy William Sartain and brother, Homer Sartain. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary A. PEARL M. THOMPSON, age 90, of White Pine, TN passed away at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System on Monday, May 10, 2010. She was a member of Harvest Outreach Church. She passed on a legacy of faith to her children, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; son, Robert L. Thompson, Jr.; and daughter, Mary Ann Thompson. MARGIE LEE MCCLURE departed this life Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital following an extended battle with leukemia. She was born January 31, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, KY, the daughter of Harmon and Rebecca Mink Jones and was of the Baptist faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Carl Donald (C.D.) McClure. Those left to grieve her passing are her son, Donald Ray McClure of White Pine, TN; sisters, Lorene Kirby of Mt. Vernon, KY and Betty (Ben) Ramsey of Richmond, KY; granddaughter, Tresa (David) Lee of Madison, AL; grandson, Frankie Lee McClure of Mauston, WI; four great-grandchildren; cousins and a host of nieces and nephews, among those very special friend and niece, Virginia Nicely of Berea, KY. PAUL MUSSON passed away suddenly on May 4, 2010. He was born July 21, 1937 in Kenton, OH, where he grew up on a farm. He was a member of the Ohio National Guard and worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 40 years before, retiring in 1999 when he moved to Tennessee. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest passion was spending time with family and especially his two granddaughters. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife of 50 years, Nancy Rish Musson; daughter, Kris; son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Cindy; granddaughters, Erica and Kelsey; sister, Ann Sprang. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine. CARL “TEEDLEY” EVERHART, age 79, of White Pine, TN passed away April 27, 2010 at Morristown Hamblen Health System. He was a life time member of Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed growing up and farming on the Kilgore family farm and helping others. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lottie Everhart; twin brother, Bob (Doris) Everhart; infant sister, Betty Jane; and infant niece, Lyndsey Noe. Carl is survived by his nephew, David (Marie) Everhart; nieces, Rebecca (Terry) Hamilton and Katherine Noe; great-nephews, Chandler Everhart, Tyler Hamilton, Austin Noe; great-nieces, Olivia Everhart and Morgan Hamilton; great-great-nephew, Justin; several cousins, including Lois Bernard and Shannon. JOE C. RAINES, age 77, of White Pine, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at his home. He was very proud of his 50 plus years he spent in the transportation industry, where he worked for Roadway, Old Dominion and as an owner/operator. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Raines; mother, Rebecca Raines; sisters, Judith McFalls and Lou Souther; brother, Jack Raines; and son, Mike Williams. EULA RINEHART SNODDERLY, age 86, of White Pine, TN passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 14, 2010. She was born and raised in the Indian Creek Community of Jefferson Co., TN, the daughter of the late Charles H. and Callie Strange Rinehart. She was a long-time resident of White Pine with her late husband of 63 years, Carl L. Snodderly. Eula was an active member of the First Baptist Church of White Pine and owned and operated Eula’s Beauty Shop for many years and ultimately retired from Dollywood. Preceded in death by her sister, Louease Garoni; brothers, Leonard, C.B., and J.M. Rinehart.

EUGENE “GENE” GOFORTH, of White Pine, TN, passed away after a brief illness at Fort Sanders Medical Center on March 18, 2010. He was a member of Leadvale Baptist Church and was a World War II Veteran, where he served as a medic, Gene was a member of the Leadvale Masonic Lodge #390, where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite for over 50 Years, and a member of the Kerbela Shrine. Gene worked at American Enka, and retired from Roadway Express with over 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife Margaret Goforth; children, Anthony and Denise Kimbrough, William B. and Andrea Lampkin, Tina and Charlie Allen; grandchildren, Annie and Megan Kimbrough, Misty, Matt, Joshua, Alexandria, and Kayden Henry, all of White Pine; sister, Louise Jones of Collegedale, TN; also several nieces and nephews. There will be a Masonic Service on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service in the chapel of Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Leadvale Masonic Lodge #390 officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

REV. KENNETH W. RICHEY, age 80 of White Pine, TN went to be with his Lord Friday morning, March 5, 2010. Rev. Richey was a retired pastor of the First Baptist Church of White Pine where he served faithfully for 27 years. He made himself available to minister to the needs and offer Christian love to anyone in the community that called upon him. Kenneth was a well-respected citizen and pillar of the White Pine area, where he was a member of the White Pine Lions Club and was always supportive of community activities. Besides his dedication to his ministry, he enjoyed farming and being with his family. He will be affectionately remembered as a beloved husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that have been touched by him. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Isobel Richey; children, Danny Richey, Dorothy Richey and David (Amy) Richey; grandchildren, Miranda Richey, Mirena (Tex) Hall, Abby and Ally Richey; great-grandchilden, Lizzy and Nola Hall; three sisters and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 3:00pm at the First Baptist Church of White Pine with Rev. Brian Osborne and Rev. Mike Sledge officiating. JAMES "DON" COLLINS, age 81, of White Pine, TN passed away at Heritage Center in Morristown on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 after a lingering illness. He was the former owner of Dandridge Building Supply and an employee of Allen-Surrett Hardware. Don was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of White Pine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Naomi Collins; wife of 50+ years, Violet Collins; son, Jerry Collins; brothers, Herbert, Carroll and Larry. Don is survived by his daughters, Gail and Joe Ivy of White Pine, Nancy White of Morristown, Linda and Mike McLean of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Sally Atkins, Shirley Collins, Wanda "Cookie" Kimborough and Hazel Smith; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Carl Wolfe. ROBERT LEWIS SEAHORN, age 78, of White Pine, TN passed away Tuesday evening, February 9, 2010 following an extended illness. In keeping with his wishes, his body was donated for medical research. A memorial service celebrating his life will be announced at a later date.

J. D. SINARD, age 79, of White Pine, TN passed away at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital on Monday, January 18, 2010. He was the son of the late Earl and Hannah Sinard, and was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. SYLVIA “GAIL” (REED) SINARD, age 68, of White Pine, TN passed away Thursday evening January 14, 2010 following a brief illness. Gail was born May 23, 1941 in White Pine, TN, the daughter of the late Eulis and Nannie (Ward) Reed. She remained a life-long resident of White Pine, attending school, raising her family, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She worked at and retired from Magnavox. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister who will be remembered for her loving, self sacrificing deeds, generosity and hard work for the benefit of her family and many others. Preceded in death by her son, James Michael Sinard; sisters, Dorothy Blanchard and Carolyn Ellis.
